On the hunt to buy a new zero turn mower? Comparing the Kubota Z400 Series and the Bad Boy Maverick but having difficulty deciding which one is the best? There’s no need to worry because at River Valley Tractor in Bryant, Arkansas, we can show you around both and help you come to a solid decision. As a Kubota Elite Dealer, we’re experienced and knowledgeable on the kind of mower you need for your lifestyle! Let’s take a look around the Z400 Series and Maverick to see which features resonate with you.
We may see two orange tractors on the surface, but beneath that, there’s many identifiable differences that stand out. Kubota quality is never missed, and the Z400 Series shows that throughout each model. Presented with the choice between 48”, 54” and 60” fully-welded, five-inch deep and 10-gauge steel mower decks, you can easily find the Z400 mower that fits your needs. Kubota quality blends into the outstanding performance that is a part of the package deal with every Z400 Series mower. The Kawasaki engine features a horsepower range of 22 to 24 HP, giving you all the power you need to dominate any blade of grass in your path. The 1.5-inch to five-inch cutting height is easily adjusted with the cutting height dial, and Kubota mowers are equipped with three standard blades. The Maverick may have a slightly higher horsepower range from 22.5 to 25.5 with its Kohler, Kawasaki and Honda engines, but they only have access to a 1.5-inch to 4.5-inch cutting height range in the Maverick. Kubota’s blade speeds are also faster than the Bad Boy zero turn, showing that Kubota has superior cutting speed.
The Maverick is seven-inches wider than the Kubota Z400 Series and can prevent your mowing efficiency, causing you to have a hard time maneuvering around obstacles like gates and openings that wouldn’t be an issue with the Z400 Series. The class-leading speed in the Z400 series combined with the performance and quality are remarkable, but what about operator comfort? The comfort on the Z400 Series exceeds the Bad Boy Maverick, giving us the right to recommend the Kubota Z400 Series as more durable and more comfortable. A foot activated parking brake allows you to have hands free activation, and a reinforced spindle mount area is designed for long-lasting durability. Also, we can’t forget to mention the K-Lift pedal and precision adjustment knob that allows you to quickly and efficiently adjust the cutting height in ¼” increments without ever having to leave your seat. Now that’s a Kubota!
